Jacques R. Essinger, PhD, Chief Executive Officer
Jacques Essinger was appointed CEO of Symetis in 2004, and the company's turnaround to develop and establish Symetis's ACURATE technology platform. He started his career as R&D director of a US-based CT scan image processing company, then co-founded and became CEO of a Swiss orthopedics company, and was subsequently appointed general manager of a US surgical tool company. In 1997 he was appointed CEO of Modex Therapeutics, which he led through a number of VC financing rounds, an IPO on the Swiss Exchange in 2000, a merger with Netherlands-based IsoTis in 2002, and the acquisition of US-based Gensci Orthobiologics in 2003. Dr. Essinger holds an MS degree in Physics, and a PhD in Biomechanics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.
Khaled Bahi, Chief Financial Officer
Khaled Bahi joined Symetis in 2014. He has more than 20 years of finance experience in banking, investment banking and corporate finance in the life sciences industry. Before joining the Company, Khaled was CFO at Fresenius Medical Care Group France for nine years, and held various positions as member of the board of directors of several companies of Fresenius. Prior to that, he was at Fresenius Germany as Head of Internal Audit and Corporate Finance Europe Middle East and Latin America. He holds an MS degree in Physics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
Stéphane Delaloye, PhD, Vice-President Research & Development
Stéphane Delaloye joined Symetis in 2006. He has more than 19 years of experience in medical device development for the minimally invasive treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Prior to joining the Company, he was the director of R&D for the Vascular Intervention division at Biotronik. He previously was at Boston Scientific Europe as R&D manager, and at Schneider Europe as R&D project manager for the development of coronary and carotid artery stenting devices. Dr. Delaloye holds an MS and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
Francis Jannot, VP Sales & MarketingFrancis Jannot joined Symetis in 2013. He has 20 years of experience in senior director positions in the medical device industry, especially in the cardiovascular field. Prior to joining Symetis, he was responsible for the United Kingdom and Ireland and Canada Region at Biotronik France, and as a regional director, general manager at Amplatzer Medical France for France and the Benelux Region. He also served at Medtronic France as business unit director for cardiac surgery and then cardiac rhythm disease management. Francis Jannot holds a Master Degree in marketing (ISG School, Paris) and a Pharm.D from University of Paris.
